【摘要】:Thetransmissionofpowerinmanyautomotiveandindustrialapplicationsisaccomplishedthroughtheuseofgearedsystems.Athigheroperatingspeedsitiswellknownthatthelubricant/additivesystemcanbeasignificantfactorinpreventingscuffing(adhesivewear)damagetogears.Thistestmethodisusedtoscreenthescuffingloadcapacityofoilsusedtolubricatespurandhelical(parallelaxis)gearunits.Thetestmethodislimitedbythecapabilitiesoftheequipment(testrigandgears),andtheperformanceobservedmaynotdirectlyrelatetoscuffingperformanceobservedwithspiralbevelonhypoidgearing.ItisalsolimitedtodiscriminatingbetweenoilswithmildEPadditivesorless.Lubricantscontaininghigherlevelsofadditives,thatis,thosemeetingtherequirementsofAPIGL4orGL5,generallyexceedthemaximumloadcapacityofthetestrigand,therefore,cannotbedistinguishedfortheirscuffingcapabilitiesbythistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethod,theForschungstellefrZhnrderundGetriebebau(ResearchSiteforGearsandTransmissions)VisualMethod,commonlyreferredtoastheFZGVisualMethod,isintendedtomeasurethescuffingloadcapacityofoilsusedtolubricatehardenedsteelgears.Scoring,aformofabrasivewear,isalsoincludedasafailurecriteriainthistestmethod.Itisprimarilyusedtoassesstheresistancetoscuffingofmildadditivetreatedoilssuchasindustrialgearoils,transmissionfluids,andhydraulicfluids.HighEPtypeoils,forexample,thoseoilsmeetingtherequirementsofAPIGL-4andGL-5,generallyexceedthecapacityofthetestrigand,therefore,cannotbedifferentiatedwiththistestmethod.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafetyinformation,seeSection7,Section8,9.2,and9.3.1.
